Close-range photogrammetry and applications

This line of research aims to implement solutions that enable the acquisition of precise information for various applications by utilizing sensor data collected at short distances from the targets. Some of the applications encompass the preservation of historical and intangible heritage, three-dimensional modeling for biomedical purposes, and reconstruction of archaeological artifacts, among others. Although the research is still in its early stages, its publication output is currently limited

Current investigations primarily focus on leveraging cell phone cameras for photogrammetric purposes in the medical field, which expands the possibilities of using uncalibrated photographic devices within the public healthcare system. Additionally, the laboratory has occasionally utilized conventional terrestrial photogrammetric cameras and laser scans for medical and architectural applications.
